Special Projects

Mistral Artist is one of the partner organizations cooperating with the Hermione Project 2015, an inspiring idea born 20 years ago when a small group of French and Americans decided to reconstruct an exact replica of the Hermione, the ship that brought the Marquis de Lafayette to the United States in 1780. The "new" Hermione will set sail for the United States in the summer of 2015, re-affirming the historic relationship between the U.S. and France. MIKE'S PLACE is a graphic novel that will be published by MacMillan’s award-winning imprint, First Second, on June 9, 2015. Based on the true story of an infamous terrorist attack, the book draws together an international cast of characters toward a fateful rendezvous at a goodtime live music blues bar called Mike’s Place, located next door to the American Embassy on a Tel Aviv beachfront in Israel.
